The Wx Learner is a space for exploring the atmosphere.  I’ve been obsessed with the weather since I was a kid —always watching The Weather Channel and wondering what was happening in the sky.

Now I’m in my junior year studying meteorology at Mississippi State, with a deep curiosity about how the atmosphere works. This blog is my way of making weather easier to understand for everyone.

Here, I share what I’m studying, observing, and discovering along the way. You’ll find posts that explain weather concepts like troughs, ridges, jet streams, and shortwaves. I will also have practice forecasts for my hometown of Erie, PA.  They won’t be perfect, that’s part of the learning process.

My goal isn’t to sound like a professional forecaster; it’s to make the science of weather easier to understand for anyone who’s curious. Whether you’re a fellow student, a weather enthusiast, or just someone who likes knowing why the forecast changes, you’ll find something here to learn with me.

I believe weather is one of the most fascinating and powerful forces on Earth.  Thanks for following along as I work toward becoming a meteorologist and share what I learn along the way.
