The National Weather Service has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning for Southern Erie County starting Sunday at 7:00 PM through Tuesday at 1:00 PM.
This warning is calling for 6-11” with the highest amounts in higher elevations. Visibility will drop to 1/4 mile and roads will be hazardous. Please use caution if you must go out
FORECAST:
There is a trough moving in Sunday evening, allowing for cold, Arctic air to rush in from Canada. This sets us up for some lake effect snow. We will see rain during the day, transitioning to snow overnight. 1-3” of accumulation. Monday, we will see snow during the day, intensifying for the evening. 1 - 3” of accumulation is possible. Tuesday will bring mixed precipitation.
This forecast is for the city of Erie. Inland areas will see significantly more. These amounts could increase if heavy bands persist.
